Budtenders at Higher Elevation are Canna-friendly guides to help our customers understand, select and purchase our full range of cannabis products. This includes a large selection of flower, concentrates, edibles and topicals. The ideal budtender will be able to learn about all strains regarding the efficacy, effects, aroma, taste and aesthetic of Higher Elevation’s in store products, but will also be a warm, welcoming, and compassionate liaison to the community and fellow coworkers. The Budtender Higher Elevation is looking for will be an upbeat, energetic presence who appreciates the subtleties and nuances of a superior customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow Vermont Cannabis Control Board rules about brochures, not giving medical advice, checking ID’s, safe handling of product, etc.
- Providing great customer service and building meaningful rapport to each and every person who walks through our door
- Educating first-time cannabis consumers to the category and the products in a caring and compassionate manner with strong attention to their tolerance and expectations
- Becoming educated on every product we carry including expected effects, benefits, selling points, and more
- Answering any questions our customers have in a friendly, professional and patient manner
- Ringing up customer orders and accepting payment accurately every time
- Helping maintain cleanliness of the store, stocking and restocking products as needed,
- Arriving on time, in uniform, and meeting grooming standards every shift
- Following all retail procedures including but not limited to, check in, check out, sales, and more
- Communicating clearly with the store managers and other members of the team
- Being a positive representation of Higher Elevation brand at all times
- Part time: approximately 16 to 24 hour per week to full time: 40 hours per week, must work weekends, weekdays available, opening shifts-9:30am to 5:30pm or closing shifts 12pm to 7:30pm, set weekly schedule with potential for some open shifts
HOURS, PAY + BENEFITS
Part Time: approximately 16 to 24 hour per week to Full Time: 40 hours per week, must work weekends, weekdays available, opening shifts-9:30am to 5:30pm or closing shifts 12pm to 7:30pm, set weekly schedule with potential for some open shifts
Pay will be $20 to $23 per hour depending on experience. Although cannabis experience is not required, it would be a great benefit. We would also consider similar work experience such as wait staff, bartending, managing large stocks of cheese, wine or beer, etc.
All new hires will be considered temporary with the chance to be hired on to the team in 90 days. To be considered for the team it would require license approval from Cannabis Control Board of Vermont (by passing both background checks and completing Vermont Cannabis Retail Training) and staff approval.

Ringers at Higher Elevation will assist the budtenders and front-end staff to create an exceptional cannabis experience for every customer. This will be included but not be limited to checking State ID’s, completing sales transactions, executing Leafly orders, stocking, cleaning procedures and so on. The ideal ringer will be passionate about cannabis, works well on a team, flexible, patient, able to multi- task, work through a list of cleaning and other repetitive tasks daily, but will also be a warm, welcoming, and compassionate liaison to the community and fellow coworkers. Ringers will be an upbeat, energetic presence who appreciates the subtleties and nuances of a superior customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Takes direction from other team members while working in a group or on independent tasks
- Eventually becoming educated on glass shop inventory including: expected use, selling points, prices, etc. to help cover breaks and days off for the front-end staff.
- Assist the front-end staff with the flow of customers from the glass shop to the Budroom. Examples could be directing customers, calling for more budtenders, backing up the front-end staff while they assist other customers, etc.
- Have a desire to continue to learn about new products, procedures, and general cannabis knowledge.
- Answering any questions our customers have in a friendly, professional and patient manner
- Ringing up customer orders and accepting payment accurately every time
- Helping maintain cleanliness of the store, stocking and restocking products as needed, stamping & stuffing bags, assist inventory specialist with adhering stickers and counting inventory
- Arriving on time, in uniform, and meeting grooming standards every shift
- Following all retail procedures including but not limited to, check in, check out, sales, and more
- Communicating clearly with the store managers and other members of the team
- Being a positive representation of Higher Elevation brand at all times

Approximately 16 to 24 hour per week, must work weekends, some weekdays available, opening shifts-9:30am to 5:30pm or closing shifts 12pm to 7:30pm, set weekly schedule with potential for some open shifts
Pay will be $18 to $21 per hour depending on experience. Although cannabis experience is not required it would be a great benefit. We would also consider similar work experience such as retail/ customer service, receptionist, wait staff, etc. to be applicable.
